1925 – born in Czestochowa 1945 – 1948 – studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, class of Wladyslaw Jarocki, Karol Frycz and Zbigniew Pronaszko, and history of art at the Jagiellonian University 1957 – 1960 – along with Marian Bogusz he run the ”Krzywe Koło” art gallery in Warsaw, 1961 – 1997 - lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw 1975 – 1981 – dean of the Painting Department in Warsaw 1983 – elected as the provost by the Academy’s senate 1986 – given the title of professor

Collections of Stefan Gierowski’s pieces can be found in National Museums in Cracow, Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, in the Art Museum in Lodz, as well as in many a private collections in the country and abroad.
